RIAA AWARDED | GRAMMY NOMINATED & GRAMMY WINNING PARTICIPANT

You create music hoping your listeners feel every word.

i make sure they do.

Bridging The Gap

Over 100,000 songs are uploaded to streaming services each week, with many of them never having one stream.

As an artist, your ultimate goal is to impact as many listeners as possible. You can make as many social media posts as you want, but that won’t guarantee that your song will stand out and be heard. Historically, major labels have done this not only by investing in extensive marketing and rollout plans, but more importantly they have the resources to make sure the music doesn’t just sound good, but that it FEELS good. Now that you have the ability to be solely responsible for your success, it’s not exactly that easy.

My role as a mix engineer is to be the bridge between you and the listener, and ensure that the emotion you poured into the song when you created it is accurately transferred to them. I preserve the humanity in your music, because that is the only way a true artist is able to stand out and not be one of the millions of tracks that haven’t had a single stream.

I never ask my clients for references of how they want their music to sound, only examples of what emotions they want to convey.

So tell me, how do YOU want your music to feel?

LISTEN

IN THEIR WORDS

the origin

A native of Philadelphia with roots deep in its musical tradition, Ray graduated from Full Sail in 2001, and immediately began collaborating with Neo-Soul, Hip-Hop and R&B royalty, making significant contributions to projects like The Roots' “Phrenology”, Justin Timberlake’s “Justified” and Musiq Soulchild’s “juslisen”. These experiences, combined with mentorship from notable producers including members of DJ Jazzy Jeff’s A Touch of Jazz and Commissioner Gordon Williams (Executive Producer “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”) encouraged him that this was where he belonged.

At the heart of Ray's philosophy is the belief that mixing is an extension of storytelling, enhancing the narrative art already baked into the music. With a background in writing, theater, and film, Ray applies a unique approach to the emotional and narrative layers of each song he is trusted with.
