In North Philadelphia, born and raised...

Books were a large part of Ray’s early life, shaping his ability to understand story structure and pique his interest in being the storyteller. After receiving accolades for writing during his early academic years, he began to appreciate some of the great literary and visual storytellers including Hitchcock, who became somewhat of  an invisible mentor to him. While attending the High School for Creative and Performing Arts in Philadelphia, he solidified his interest and focused exclusively in film & video production, being an influence in transforming a course into a full major discipline for future students, and being invited to a two-week workshop at Penn State University in the process.

After being disappointed with the boundaries set by Temple University’s Film and Media Arts Program compared to his experiences in high school, Ray transferred to Full Sail University in Orlando, FL where he graduated with a degree in Recording Arts and Sciences. After returning to his hometown, he began a ten-year career as a recording engineer, and worked with luminaries such as The Roots, Jill Scott and Justin Timberlake. In 2009, he moved to Colorado and rekindled his relationship with the photographic art form in both still and motion. Currently  his work has been exhibited  in multiple publications, lists recording artist Brave Williams as a client and is producing a film chronicling the modern soul movement in Philadelphia.

Ray resides in Denver, CO with his wife and daughter.
